Leah Finlay – Administrative Assistant
Leah is from Dartmouth, Nova Scotia and this will be her 1st summer at Arowhon. Leah is currently licensed as a CCA, and has worked in special needs care for the past 4 1/2 years. She enjoys providing respite care and giving back to her community of Cole Harbour and Dartmouth East. Leah is very active in her community – recently she has been assisting her community’s MLA office. Leah hopes to study as a nurse in the upcoming year, and she’s excited to further her healthcare education. Leah is a book lover, enjoys writing, and she loves the outdoors and camp life. Leah is grateful to have travelled many places to date, and plans on exploring many more places – Leah worked in office administration in PEI, she frequently travels to Ontario to visit her many family members there and she returned from Iceland in January, there she did ice caving, hiking and mountain climbing.
After an 11-year hiatus from Arowhon, Hailey is excited to return to her Teepee Lake home again. She grew up as a camper at Arowhon and then went on to achieve both a bachelor of arts in communication studies from Wilfred Laurier University and a degree in book and magazine publishing from Centennial College! When not working or studying, she enjoys crocheting, reading, and science fiction – she has even organized a few conventions. Hailey has been working in the Toronto office and is looking forward to getting up to camp and hearing the loons again, canoeing on Tepee Lake, and trying out all of camp’s awesome activities like the high ropes course.
