Buck Lake Bonanza

Our 2018 season of Rustic Lounge performances started with a bang tonight! The Senior Boys have been working tirelessly since they arrived at camp to prepare their 100% original (not to mention wildly hilarious, creative, and good-spirited satire) play about camp life. The boys dressed up as different Arowhon staff members (and pets) and gave everyone a great laugh. The premise of the show this year was Max and Mara both getting married on the same day and vying for ownership of camp (the end was a cliffhanger… I guess we’ll have to wait until next year to find out what happens).

The other highlight of the day was our visit from the Syrian campers who will be coming to us for second session. In true Arowhon spirit, campers and staff alike showed them the warmest welcome and made them feel right at home. They accompanied our new Canadian friends for their first time swimming in a northern lake, climbing a wall, and riding a horse. It was truly a transformative experience and we can’t wait to have them back for longer in a few weeks.

The weather is now perfect for all camp activities and everyone is looking forward to our first Sunday sleep-in and brunch! Bagels and lox, chocolate croissants, and eggs to order… we know what we’ll be dreaming of tonight!
