Campfire

It was hot, sunny and windy today… On the land, campers rode the cross-country horseback trail, tie-dyed and played guitar, worked the organic garden and Juniors rehearsed Aladdin. Senior Girls and Boys got back from their canoe trips and reported great times… Senior Boys made saunas on trip and rigged tarp sails on paddles to “sail” the big lakes when the wind was at their back… Senior Boys in camp built a mast and boom out of saplings and turned a canoe into a sailboat, which they sailed around our lake this morning.

Tonight was the first campfire of second session. The entire camp was led by torches to the beautiful woodland campsite and we heard songs both soulful and silly. There were also three 10-year jacket ceremonies and one 5-year staff paddle ceremony. As well, campers celebrating 5 years at camp received their 5-year mini paddles with their names engraved on them.
