Cotillion and Rustic Lounge

Wow! We had a great day today. It doesn’t hurt that it was warm and sunny. The inter long trips (7 days to Killarney Park) got back to camp today and the kids reported loving their trips. Then tonight dinner was the annual Cotillion banquet with the Main Lodge turned into a space ship thanks to the decorating talents of the senior girls. Our chefs outdid themselves with the banquet – sushi, smoked salmon mousse on pita points, stuffed portobello mushrooms, Greek salad, curly fries and steaks…. With home made (by our two bakers) chocolate truffles and chocolate dipped strawberries for dessert.

After dinner I had the great joy of passing the youngest first class canoeist in 50 years – a 12 year old girl with impeccable paddling strokes, grace and strength. At 8:15 she was carried into Rustic Lounge (the theatre) on the shoulders of canoeing staff, and the entire camp chanted her name in celebration…. Then we watched the senior girls show, Rustic Lounge – a hilarious satire of camp staff with songs and dances.
