Going Out With a Bang!

We could not have asked for a better last day of programming for 2016! The wind was roaring, windsurfers and sailboats were flying across the lake, riding took out a final cross country trail, and beautiful plaques were completed at A&C that will forever mark the amazing memories that were created this summer. At Rest Hour counsellors ran all sorts of creative bonding activities with their cabins (and plenty of golden brown marshmallows were roasted), and campers came out to cheer on their counsellors in a staff baseball game before dinner.

Tons more campers were commemorated in front of the whole camp for the high class awards they have achieved, including the first and only Arowhon A award of the summer by Senior Boy Kobi Shapero! Evening activity was the staff talent show where each section’s staff performed an original song they wrote about their campers, followed by a perfectly magical torch paddle to the iconic Night Swimming and Wheat Kings, which we dedicated to Gord Downie. As Max said in his closing words tonight: camp is like a roll of toilet paper: the closer you get to the end the faster it goes by. We’re so sad to be saying goodbye to such a fabulous summer, but so glad to have all of these wonderful memories to cherish throughout the year.
