Hot tamales!

It was 30 degrees today and we were so grateful to have a refreshing lake to jump in to cool down! We also had “Tutti Frutti” at rest hour – a truck driving around to all the sections delivering popsicles! The waterfront activities were jam packed and even the most hesitant of swimmers couldn’t wait to jump in the lake! The morning was so calm that windsurfing turned to chicken boarding, but the wind came up in the afternoon and cut the heat a little bit and made sailboats and windsurfers fly again.

The Inter Boys and Inter Girls are currently involved in a heated game of Capture the Fire (although it looks like more water is being poured on each other than on the fires), and the Senior Boys are competing in rap battles around camp, so it’s a bit of a rowdy night around here (whether the energy is due to last night’s ETB or all the tuck we’ve been giving out we’re not sure!).

There was a great skit in the Main Lodge at lunch to announce the new food waste challenge hosted by the nature instructors – part of camp’s project to help our campers become more environmentally conscious and protect our Algonquin wilderness. The winning sections will get prizes and everyone will go home with a little more sense of responsibility for our planet.

The first set of Inter Boy trips arrived triumphantly back to camp today looking strong and happy, and are excited to get back into the swing of camp life. The Senior Girls’ long trip is leaving tomorrow to paddle all the way to the Baron Canyon (on the far East side of the Park) and we can’t wait to see pictures and hear stories upon their return! As always, we’re so proud of how hard core Arowhon campers are!!!
