We just came from watching the extravaganza skit to break tthe special day to the full camp… 30 staff in costumes acting, fireworks, light sabres, sound and sets. Tomorrow 4 teams will compete to take back the empire… Minus the Juniors who left on trip this morning. They have many staff with great plans to teach them outdoor skills like fire-making and cooking on the fire, and to entertain them on their campsites….

Before the Star Wars break skit we had our weekly camp wide campfire, with songs and skits performed by both campers and staff. We were led up to the woodland Junior Boys Campsite by torches and we sat on the cedar benches round the campfire, all together in community celebration. There were two 10-year jacket speeches. Both of the 10-year jacket celebrants talked about becoming who they are at camp… And wanting to give campers the great gifts that their staff gave them as campers. What better motivation is there?
