Let it Rain, Let it Pour, All We Want is Colour War!!!

Pour it did, all afternoon, but that didn’t stop us from having an INCREDIBLE day 2 of Colour War! Land and Sea this morning had every single camper either running around on land or cruising the lake in boats trying to get as many hidden blocks as they could out to the voyageur canoe which was anchored on the other side of the lake without getting tagged by “bad guys” who were on foot, horseback, and all over the lake trying to steal the blocks back. It proved that all the practice with high class manoeuvres wasn’t just for show!

But the afternoon was really the show-stopper with our traditional Colour War marathon that took place across the entire camp. It seemed like the harder it rained, the more energy our campers found! We’ve never seen so much positivity and passion to keep going despite the conditions! Every camper participated in the 50 event marathon which culminated in the captains of each team building fires to burn ropes tied between 2 chairs. The trippers rigged up an elaborate tarp structure to keep the fires dry and campers cheered at the top of their lungs and the captains barely noticed the rain!

This evening as we were walking up to the Alma Mater presentation a brilliant full rainbow showed itself over Tepee Lake – a perfect representation of all the colours coming together in harmony after the days of competition. We’re proud of the white team for winning, but really ALL the seniors were victorious in leading the camp for 2 days! They are in the ML now celebrating with an extended snack and tomorrow we have a special sleep in and brunch. Then back to programming to squeeze as much fun and learning as we can out of the last week of camp!
