The Search for Nemo is on!

We couldn’t have asked for a better first day of Colour War! The weather was perfect (sunny but not too hot, a great breeze to propel the sailing and windsurfing competitions) and everybody’s spirits and energy were through the roof. We started the day with a fierce game of Scavination (a great camp wide game where campers travel in teams to tag staff members and complete a task to get the answer to a clue). There were human pyramids being built all over, silly songs sung, and a great time was had by campers and staff alike. Then we had a bunch of activity competitions (a kayak race, a tennis tournament, a riding competition, and a speed chess match) and before lunch everyone’s favourite: the Tug of War!!!

The afternoon was also jam-packed full of fun activities. We started with the swim meet (the highlight of which was a Senior Boy going off the 10-foot tower in a kayak for “Most Creative Dismount”), continued with the soccer and basketball tournaments and cheerleading competition, and ended with the fight songs, which were especially exciting this year because of the original accompaniments, ranging from trumpets to drums to acrobatics. This evening was everyone’s favourite: the Counsellor Hunt, where the blue team made Arowhon history by finding Joanne and earning 300 points!!! But it doesn’t even matter who’s winning or losing because everyone’s having such a great time!  Stay posted for tomorrow’s updates on Land and Sea, the Marathon, and of course the Alma Maters!
