A Dream Come True

The sun was shining again today over Tepee Lake and it was a perfect day for the Little Mermaid-themed swimming special day. Campers sang and swam and bounced and blobbed to their hearts content as they helped Ariel (a.k.a. climbing instructor Evan who looked remarkable in a bright red wig) overcome obstacles to reunite with his prince.

With only a week left in first session, camp is abuzz with activity as our older campers prepare for their high class awards tests that they’ve been working toward all month. We are astounded by the incredible level of skill and dedication shown by Arowhon campers as they push their limits and master seriously high level skills that will last them their lifetimes.

And speaking of pride in what we do, check out THIS inspiring CBC piece on the amazing work we’re doing in partnership with tripper Jacky Chan to make camp a more welcoming and diverse environment. Everything we do at Arowhon is infused with our values of caring, respect, and learning and this year as we acknowledge Canada’s 150th birthday, we’re renewing our commitment to recognizing our privilege and using it to help others in our community and beyond.

If you have any ideas about how we can continue on this important journey, please email mara@camparowhon.com to join Arowhon’s social justice promotion team.
