Boo is Back!

The second day of Colour War started with a bright and early rise and shine! Campers jumped into a misty Tepee Lake for the Polar Bear Swim to earn team points, before heading to breakfast full of energy and enthusiasm. Nothing like an early morning dip to get the blood flowing!

After breakfast was the traditional camp favourite Land and Sea, where campers on land searched for hidden blocks of treasure, which they passed off to teammates in canoes, kayaks, sailboats, and on windsurf and paddle boards to transport across the lake to the anchored voyageur canoe, all the while trying to protect their loot from theft by the “bad guys”.

The intensity only ramped up as the day progressed, reaching an all-time high in the afternoon as we held our 52-task marathon. All four teams raced around camp completing various challenges, culminating in the captains building fires to burn a rope between two chairs. The entire camp watched and cheered at the top of their lungs, and the celebration of all the captains after the last rope burned was a testament to true sportsmanship.

As the temperature cooled down in the evening, so did the competition. Campers performed creative and inspiring Alma Maters (songs they had written in the past 2 days) , and then the captains led the camp in a soulful singalong.

A huge congratulations to all of our campers who put every ounce of their time, energy, heart, and soul into this year’s Colour War!

Now on to a well-earned rest with an ETB (early to bed) tonight, followed by a sleep in and brunch tomorrow.
