Welcome to another edition of Camper Takeover! Today, we have stories from Savanna, Miri, and Charlotte, who share their exciting experiences and memorable moments at camp. Let’s dive in!
Savanna, Dragonflies
Highlight of the Day: Meeting my trippers since I’m going on a trip tomorrow, which I’m really excited about.
Something You Learned: In riding, I learned that horses can either be really lazy or really hyper. Also, you have to lean back when you’re going downhill and lean forward when you’re going uphill.
What Do You Want to Learn or Try? I’m trying to get my 2.5s in dance because I love dancing.
Favorite Memory: Hanging out with my LITs or mega SUPing with my cabin is always a blast. You get to bond with your cabin, and it’s really fun.
Favorite Activity: Ride and dance are my favorites because I love both in the city, and they remind me of home.
Miri
Highlight of the Day: I got a course award in ropes!
Something You Learned: I learned that my sister is going on a trip, and I’m excited for her.
Favorite Memory: Going on trip, it was a very team-building experience, and it helped me become closer with my friends.
What Do You Want to Learn or Try? I want to get a trot bracelet.
Favorite Activity: SUP is a great excuse to go swimming, which is also my favorite activity. I just love being in the water.
Charlotte, Tadpoles
Highlight of the Day: My sister got back from a 10-day trip, and we all got to jump in the lake to welcome them back!
Favorite Memory: Getting off the bus was amazing because I saw everyone, and I hadn’t seen most people for a whole year. It was also nice to make some new friends.
What Do You Want to Learn or Try? I want to get seconds in something, climb the wave, and learn how to sing “hot potato” in Spanish.
Favorite Activity: Dance is my favorite because I do competitive dance at home, and I love being able to do it at camp. I also have a lot of goals in climbing; the atmosphere is super nice and encouraging.
Favorite Memory: Seeing my sister today, jumping in the water and singing, was great. Ayla, who was my LIT last year, is now our counselor, which is also pretty cool.
