It was so fun today to welcome our 30 Mini Campers to give them a taste of Arowhon for the weekend!
Our older campers are wonderful ambassadors, showing the Mini Campers around and answering all their questions. Mini Campers started their day with a beach party and sandcastle building, followed by hot chocolate and a camp tour. After fueling up with pizza lunch they had lots of energy for their afternoon activities: horseback riding, canoeing, sailing, and stand up paddle boarding. Their evening activity was a classic campfire featuring all of our favourite staff acts. After such a big day, Mini Campers were glad to settle into their cozy cabins and welcomed snacks delivered by the famous Arowhon cookie fairies!
In regular camp, a bunch more canoe trips came back to day and the ML is now full of people and cheering again. It’s that time in the summer where instructors are out at every spare moment, from sunrise to sunset, helping high class campers perfect their skills in preparation for their awards. It’s magical to see campers emerging from the mist on the lake at 6am paddling and chanting in unison… like something out of a movie.
The nights are getting chilly as August marches on (which makes for beautiful misty mornings), and we’re gathering around campfires and filling our bellies with s’mores to stay warm. We are so grateful for every day we get to spend on beautiful Tepee Lake and are definitely making the most of those we have left!
