Why Arowhon?
Where friendships are born, and confidence takes root
At Arowhon, your child will build confidence through supported challenge and make friends who appreciate them for who they are.
In cabins under the pines and circles around the fire, kids are welcomed into a community that cheers loudly and listens closely. Alongside activity skills, they learn resilience, respect, and joy in the journey.
Arowhon is where your kids will make their best friends and become their best selves, and that kind of growth lasts far beyond the summer.

The Arowhon Experience

Confidence, Unplugged
Stepping away from home allows kids to step into themselves. In a truly screen-free environment, your child will take healthy risks, step up to challenges, and build confidence through accomplishment. Supported by skilled, caring staff and immersed in nature, they will form genuine friendships, learn to be fully present, and discover what they can do on their own — growth no device can replace.

Skill Building
At Arowhon, your child won't just try activities, they'll develop real skills. With personalized coaching and a progressive award system, they'll reach meaningful milestones that build pride and confidence. From their first canoe stroke to performing in front of the full camp, perseverance is celebrated. We teach with intention that sparks joy in learning, helping campers become not just better at activities, but stronger, more well-rounded people.

Social-Emotional Safety
Because growth starts with feeling safe. Our staff are trained to truly listen and help kids build the skills to work through challenges with empathy and respect, creating a community where kindness and connection make every child feel at home. When kids have big feelings, tough moments, or need a steady hand, we're ready.

CANOE TRIPPING
From paddling across misty morning lakes or portaging through Algonquin’s world famous backcountry, campers discover a strength and resilience that only wilderness travel can give. With experienced trip leaders guiding them, they learn to work as a team, navigate challenges, and live in the moment. More than learning how to navigate whitewater or build a fire, your child will find their courage and a lifelong love of the outdoors – lessons that stick long after the mud washes off
