As the sun rose once more on our beautiful Tepee Lake this morning, we prepared ourselves to say goodbye to our wonderful 2 and 6-week campers. Emotions were high and many tears were shed as friends said goodbye to each other with hopes and promises of returning in 2025. Although it was sad to see so many campers go, we were pleased to see the smiles light up on our campers’ faces as they told their parents picking them up about their time here at Planet Arowhon and, in turn, the parents’ faces light up as they listened.
Despite our decrease in campers, enthusiasm and energy at camp is as high as ever. Remaining campers are excited to get extra attention and coaching at activities, and counsellors are determined to make the last 2 weeks as special as possible for their cabins. Lunch was raucous with the thrill of the popular camp delicacy: chicken burgers, and many visiting alumni who joined in sectional cheers that brought them back to their camper days.
We’re full of anticipation for all the wonderful things the next 2 weeks will hold, from Colour War to Brent and Whitney trips to Arowhon-a-Palooza to the Senior Play, and more!
We’re not counting the days, we’re making the days count!
