Even though our camp community is smaller now, we have more spirit than ever!
The cool wind today was a nice break from the heat wave of the last weeks, and it made for an exciting day on the lake, with campers beating Director Mara in both surf and sail races! It was also and exciting day at the canoe dock, with a guest lesson from alumni canoe instructor (and current camp dad) Jon Stone, and the announcement of our annual Green Leech creative craft race, where campers can paddle anything BUT a canoe.
With fewer kids in camp the staff can run extra special evening activities, and tonight featured a talent show for the Grasshoppers and Dragonflies (who are now a combined section called the Bugs), “Know your Campers” for the Tadpoles (a spin on Know your Counsellor, where counsellors competed to see how many facts they knew about their campers), and an Iron Chef campfire cooking competition for the Point.
We’re excited for a big day tomorrow, with a surprise sleep-in brunch and 2 mile swims, and also to welcome a slew of alumni who are coming to help with Mini Camp this weekend.
We can’t wait to share what comes next as Planet Arowhon kicks into fifth gear for these final two weeks!
