Family Camp is a chance for campers of all ages to enjoy the outdoors in comfort together. It’s relaxed, welcoming, and designed to give families a real feel for camp: time outside, good food, lots to do, and space to slow down. Whether you’re brand new to Arowhon and curious about what it’s like, an avid camper who’s had to give up summers on the lake for a “real” job, or a current family or alumni who want to experience camp life, you’ll feel right at home here.

Choose Your Own Adventure

Family Camp is a relaxed, resort-style feel with the option to jump into the action whenever you’d like. We offer a full schedule (link to full schedule below) of staff-led activities for all ages and welcome you to do as much  or as little as you’d like to shape the weekend to fit each person’s energy and interests.

Try ​​classic camp activities like sailing, rock climbing, and horseback riding with Arowhon staff there to teach you the basics and make sure everyone feels comfortable jumping in. No experience required.

Prefer a slower pace? Soak up some sun on one of our docks or beaches, enjoy a sunset paddle, or spend an afternoon waiting for the fish to bite while enjoying the Algonquin views. 
Seasoned campers are welcome to take a canoe or sailboat and strut their stuff at their leisure. 

ACCOMODATIONS

Family campers stay in our comfortable rustic wooden cabins on our private lakeside site in Algonquin Park.

Your registration includes a standard communal camper cabin (one cabin per family, though you’re also welcome to share!). All cabins have a bathroom, sink, electricity and access to newly renovated shower houses.

If you’re looking for something with a little more privacy or amenities, a limited amount of staff cabins – with individual rooms, double beds, heat, showers or bathtubs – are available for an additional fee. Cabin requests are prioritized by registration date.

Family Camp is what you make it. You can participate in lots of activities or just a few — together as a family or on your own.

Activities are available for a wide range of ages and abilities, and drop-off activities are offered for children ages 4+

What Should I Pack?

We provide all food and activity equipment. You’ll need to bring:
    • Clothes for being outside
   •  Bedding and towels
   •  Toiletries
   •  Alcoholic beverages (if you’d like)

A detailed packing list will be sent to registered families.

Full payment is due at the time of registration. Full refund available for cancellations up to 30 days before.  

FAQ's

Family Camp is for everyone! Families with young kids wanting an easy wilderness weekend or exploring future summer camp options, current camp families who want to see their kids in action, alumni wanting to get back to their roots, couples or singles looking for an adventurous getaway…

Wheelchair access is available in the dining hall and some upgraded cabins. Camp terrain is uneven and may be challenging in places. We can provide electrical access for CPAP machines and other common medical devices upon request.

No guest pets, please. Service animals are welcome.
