With Colour War over and just a few more days of camp left, we’re squeezing the most out of every moment.
After 7 weeks of camp, our community really feels like a family, and the comfort and camaraderie are creating special moments all over the place.
A group of Tadpoles spent 45 minutes at Rest Hour on the surf beach trying to flip a plastic chair to land upright (a wholesome version of flip cup).
The Owls have been working steadily away at making a Rainbow Loom string long enough to stretch from the Curve to the Point (they are 3/4 of the way there already!)
8 incredible campers took on the challenge of the 2 mile swim back to camp from Joe Lake dam today.
The Juniors returned from trip with huge smiles, sharing proud stories of their first portages, sap tattoos, and singing at the tops of their lungs to drown out a thunder storm.
Evening activity was Cabin Night, where the counsellors got to organize special activities for each age group, and we were so impressed with their creativity! Dragonflies competed in a Master Chef competition, Grasshoppers went on a daring adventure to rescue the kidnapped cookie fairies, Salamanders waged their bets at casino night, Tadpoles attended a Magen Boys boot camp and enjoyed spa treatments, Owls played real life Clue around camp and competed in a “trashion show”, Loons went on a pirate treasure hunt in the voyageur canoe, Bears challenged themselves in an Amazing Race, and Moose got out their feelings in a rage cage and are spending the night singing songs around a campfire on Burnt Island Lake.
The Brent and Whitney kids’s are tucked in early tonight, ready to get up at the crack of dawn to set out on their marathon voyages across Algonquin Park.
It’s amazing how much happens in a day here, and how the moments, both big and small, organized and organic, come together to make every day here so special.
