The heat wave returned to Planet Arowhon today, but Mother Nature blessed us with some of the best winds we’ve seen all summer.
The waterfront came alive as campers took full advantage of the conditions, sailing and windsurfing from one end of the lake to the other at impressive speed. Ambitious campers competed in sail and surf races at Rest Hour, making the most of the perfect breeze while the rest of us cheered them on from shore.
The heat seemed to invite everyone onto the water today. Campers spent their time snorkelling around the Sail Beach, discovering mussel shells, underwater
plants, and the occasional hidden treasure beneath the surface. Even the horses went swimming today with a group of Owls and Bears on their backs!
As wonderful as the day was, there was one highlight everyone was talking about: Tepee Treats. Our new soft-serve ice cream shop has already become a favourite gathering place, but yesterday we introduced an extra sweet incentive. Campers can now earn ice cream tickets for every activity award they receive, and the excitement has been contagious.
The result? A record number of 3rd Class Awards were announced at lunch today. Yes, the promise of ice cream may have provided a little extra motivation, but behind every award is a camper who tried something new, practiced a little harder, or stepped outside their comfort zone. That’s what we’re really celebrating.
Now, all eyes are on the first 1st Class Award of the summer. Why? Because earning a 1st Class Award comes with perhaps the sweetest prize imaginable…
Unlimited ice cream tickets for the rest of the summer!
We have a feeling it won’t be long before someone earns that first scoop of glory.
