After days of sizzling sunshine, the heat wave has finally broken, and the cooler air has put a spring in everyone’s step on Planet Arowhon. Campers are throwing themselves into activities with renewed enthusiasm, and camp is full of proud cheering as campers achieve high class awards at all hours of the day. It’s so inspiring to see campers challenging themselves and being celebrated for their progress, persistence, and skill – truly the stuff Arowhon is made of.
The air around camp is buzzing with creativity, connection, and laughter, as campers and staff work towards emptying their bucket lists before the summer winds down. From last night’s Cabin Night, where counsellors cooked up unique cabin bonding activities for their campers (from Larping to archery tag and beyond), to the small moments like cabins doing cabin circle under the stars on a dock, we’re savouring every moment, big and small.
Tonight was an exciting night with the final camp play of the season: an incredible musical showcase of Wicked, performed by the Sinters and Seniors. Campers blew us away on stage with their courage, power of their voices, and teamwork that went into making a well-oiled show.
Whether it’s cheering on a cabin mate working toward an award, laughing together during a goofy cabin activity, or answering a reflective cabin circle question, we are reminded again and again how special it feels to live in this community.
Tomorrow brings our final day of activities for the summer, and we plan to squeeze every last drop of joy, adventure, and friendship out of it. We’re making the most of every moment because we know these moments will last a lifetime.
