The theme of this summer is FUN, and one of our favourite new traditions is “Silly Sundays” where instructors offer goofy versions of their activities to keep things fresh. Some of the silly offerings today were rock climbing up the walls of cabins, hunting staff with marshmallow arrows at archery, playing tennis on SUP boards, and “boga” (yoga in the bog).
This morning campers enjoyed a sleep in and famous Arowhon Sunday brunch, complete with freshly baked chocolate croissants, bagels with smoked salmon, tropical fruit, and eggs to order, which tasted extra good while sitting outside under the beautiful morning sun. After brunch, campers had the choice between going to whatever activities they wanted for super general all morning or doing distance swims across the lake (which many people took advantage of since the lake has been so warm lately). And camp is looking beautiful after a super cabin clean up that had many cabins moving up in the clean-up competition.
The icing on the day was a FABULOUS junior play: The Little Mermaid! The stage was full of spirited campers dressed as all sorts of sea creatures, singing and dancing their hearts out, and the audience went wild with appreciation. We can’t believe tomorrow is the last day of activities for 2 and 6 weekers… time really does fly when you’re having fun.
