Cookouts, Campfires, and Camper Stories!

What an awesome day at camp! We enjoyed a cookout and a campfire, making the day even better. Seb Surf and Simon (Point counsellor) received their 10-year jackets today, which was a really special moment.

Today, we have Maggie, Ella, and Giovanni from the Tadpoles, Bears, and Salamanders sections sharing their camp experiences with us. Let’s dive into their stories!

Maggie, Tadpoles

  • Highlight of the Day: Getting back from our trip and finally taking a shower! The campfire skits tonight were also hilarious.
  • Something You Learned: I learned how to take down a tent today, which will be super useful for my next camping trip.
  • What Do You Want to Learn or Try? I want to learn how to sail. I’ve been a couple of times, but there’s still so much to learn!
  • Favorite Memory: Going on the zipline—it’s so exciting but also a bit scary!

Ella, Bears

  • Highlight of the Day: The cookout was awesome! It was so nice to hang out with my friends.
  • What Did You Learn Today: I learned how to volley in tennis, which was great.
  • Something You Want to Learn/Try: I want to try climbing. I’m scared of heights, but I want to do it before the summer ends.
  • Favorite Memory: SUPing with my counselor and friends. We were chicken boarding, where two people are on the board, and you try to shake each other off. It was really funny!

Giovanni, Salamanders

  • Highlight of the Day: I got my thirds in archery, which I’ve been working really hard for, and I reached the top of the climbing wall!
  • What Did You Learn Today: I learned how to fixate my aim in archery.
  • Something You Want to Learn/Try: I want to get my 2.5’s in archery, my 3rd’s in climbing, and finish my book.
  • Favorite Memory: Achieving all the things I did today!
