Goodnight Planet Arowhon

As the sun sets on Planet Arowhon tonight and we get ready to say goodbye to our 2 and 6 week friends tomorrow, our hearts are full of wonderful memories and gratitude for the time we had with them in this incredible place.

The last couple days have been packed with even more wonderful classic camp experiences. Last night was our annual Sadie Hawkins dance, a country-themed event featuring a corn roast, horseshoes, a saloon serving lemonade, and hay rides on Lou Maintenance’s decked out truck.

Today was full of campers getting carried in the Main Lodge on the shoulders of their staff celebrating achievements of high class awards, and the pride in the dining hall during the speeches was electric.

Tonight after sectional closures we enjoyed the haunting magic of a moonlit torch paddle, followed by a touching 10 year jacket speech by our beloved sailing instructor, and reading of the classic camp poem:

Good Night Moon, Goodnight Loon.

Good Night Canoe Dock, Goodnight Gibraltar Rock.

Good Night Point & Goodnight Curve.
