Introducing… Cabin Night!

The 2 week camper’s last night at camp was truly epic, with our first ever Cabin Night – an evening where counsellors planned and ran super special activities for their cabins around camp.

The Dragonflies competed in an Iron Chef competition in Mara’s cabin.

The Grasshoppers snuck into the Point and found the fabled Sprite Fountain.

Some Salamanders had a casino night with Black Jack, Poker, Roulette, and Slots (kids sitting between hanging sheets picking items out of a box and seeing if they matched each other’s).

Owls had a karaoke party in the Staff Lounge.

Loons hosted a rage room and smashed up some old pottery, electronics, and building materials.

Bears ran around camp in an Amazing Race, and Moose baked cookies in Jo and Leon’s cabin.

The already special evening was capped of with a magical torch paddle followed by this reading:

Arowhon People have the ability to hang in there, see things through, persevere and recover from a setback.

We see the opportunity in situations.

We explore, learn about, and appreciate the world around us.

We are team players. We connect with each other in meaningful ways.

We negotiate, collaborate and compromise with others.

Arowhon people are kind. We put ourselves in others’ shoes and find the best in ourselves and others.

And once you are an Arowhon person, as you are all now, these things will forever be a part of you wherever you go.

We’re equally sad to say goodbye to our Junior Campers, and excited for another 6 weeks of this incredible summer!
