After another beautiful sunny, breezy day on Tepee Lake, campers and staff were excited to head up to Rustic Lounge (our theatre) to see the Junior play: Tangled.
The audience of 500 was enraptured by the courage, talent, and cuteness of the Juniors and Jinters on stage. From the littlest 7 year old bravely whispering her lines to the 11 year old twice her size confidently belting out a perfectly in-key solo, the show came together perfectly, and was a wonderful illustration of Arowhon community.
Other special things that happened at camp today:
A staff member who started as a shy, awkward Junior and has grown into a beloved head instructor received the Staff of the Day award and literally half the dining hall stormed him for hugs of congratulations.
Camp Director Mara got the Loons and Owls sweating with a power yoga class on the dock.
Volleyball and SUP teamed up for “VUP” and lots of fun and laughs were had on the water.
Riding took their first water trails (where kids ride horses into the water to cool down) to beat the heat.
The dining hall shook after lunch with each section trying to cheer louder than the last.
We’re all looking forward to the first sleep-in and brunch buffet tomorrow (chocolate croissants and eggs to order anyone?), followed by Silly Sunday (where the instructors all run goofy versions of their activities.
Not a bad life on Planet Arowhon…
