The energy was at an all-time high today for our first full camp special day of the summer: our much-anticipated Arowhon Circus!
This morning’s breakfast announcements were interrupted by a flashmob featuring a bearded lady inviting everyone outside to see “the greatest show on earth”. There was a golf cart elephant, trapeze artists hanging from the Main Lodge porch roof, contortionists, acrobats, and of course a circus ring leader announcing that the Arowhon Circus was in town.
The sunny afternoon was spent by the full camp jumping in bouncy castles, racing through of blow-up obstacle courses, slip ‘n sliding off the sail dock into the lake, a huge foam party, and of course plenty of soak-a-grams by the Senior Bears. Luckily we had lots of energy thanks to all the cotton candy, sno-cones, and popcorn from the carnival booths!
As if that wasn’t enough excitement for the day, the Magen Boys joined us for dinner and a wild dance party for evening activity. Buckets were sweated as campers and staff rocked out under disco lights in the Rustic Lounge, and campers cooled down around a campfire outside learning from director Mara how to roast a perfectly golden brown marshmallow.
Camp is silent tonight as we fall into bed exhausted and elated about getting to spend our summer at the best place on earth.
