Christine is from Toronto, and is currently halfway through her Bachelor of Education at York University. She is extremely excited to return to Camp Arowhon for her 2nd summer where she will be part of the Program Directing team! Her previous role at Arowhon was as one of the LIT Directors in 2016. Before Arowhon, Christine worked at several camps and outdoor companies for many years where she has been a counsellor, family camp program facilitator, canoe trip guide, and almost every job in between (she’s even worked in the kitchen!). Although Christine missed Arowhon oh-so-much last summer, she was busy fulfilling some life goals such as: completing her Master’s Degree, rock climbing in BC, and watching the Blue Jays play at Wrigley Field. This summer, Christine is ready to achieve new goals at camp, and help everyone else do the same!! Yippee!!
Christie lives in Toronto, and works full time at Basecamp Climbing, and as a part time swimming and lifesaving instructor at the RCYC. Additionally, she works part-time throughout the year with ALIVE Outdoors and Adventureworks, bringing students outside. Christie volunteers with BOOST Child & Youth Advocacy Centre at fundraising events and volunteers annually as a facilitator at SMILE camp through the TDSB and Toronto Police. Last summer she volunteered for a week guiding a blind woman on a hiking, kayaking and SUP adventure in Wawa, ON. This will be Christies 3rd summer at Arowhon; she was Head Ride in 2010 and 2012, and has worked a number of seasons with the Arowhon Outdoor Centre. This year Christie has travelled to Australia, New Zealand and Iceland before finding herself in Algonquin Park for the summer, and looks forward to another fantastic summer on Teepee Lake!
