What a day in Algonquin Park! The weather was perfect, and the fun was nonstop from morning till night. Campers got a grand tour of all the camp activities. They met all the instructors, tried their hand at everything from kayaking to arts and crafts, and got a real feel for the exciting times ahead. The sun shone for swim tests and campers warmed up after with hot chocolate around the fire, courtesy of the trippers.

The buzz of the day carried into the evening, starting with a lively dinner in the main lodge followed by our first singalong of the summer. The Bears stood at the front in their jeans and white tees to lead us in camp classics, ‘Iris,’ ‘Wonderwall,’ and ‘Circle Game’. The energy was contagious, and everyone stood up on their benches and joined in.

As the sun set, campers and counsellors took turns showcasing their skills at campfire. The evening wrapped up with the section heads singing ‘Friends, Friends, Friends’ and the whole camp swaying arm in arm. It was amazing to be fully back in camp life, with spirits high.

Now, campers are winding down with their sections, enjoying snacks and sharing stories of the day’s adventures. This is just the beginning of what promises to be an unforgettable summer!
