Safe and Sound on Tepee Lake

The first day of camp could not have gone more smoothly. The weather was perfect (sunny but not too hot, with a lovely breeze to keep the bugs at bay), everyone arrived on time and all luggage made its way to its owners. The traditional night one pasta dinner was a hit as usual, and the brownies make by our resident baker (who is with us for his 4th summer all the way from Mexico) were the icing on the cake.

Evening activities were “platonic speed dating” (a.k.a. icebreaker games) for all of the sections and then teaching sectional cheers which reverberated across the lake.  Now as camp falls silent and the loon calls echo hauntingly across the lake it’s hard to believe there are over 500 people on site.

We’re crossing our fingers for more good weather for Tour Day tomorrow (but the silver lining to silver sunshine will be “hocho in Jo’s” (Arowhon lingo for hot chocolate in Joanne’s cabin) for campers after their swim test. Keep your browsers refreshed for our nightly blogs, including cabin pictures which will be posted by Saturday.

Thank you so much for lending us your most prized possessions for another incredible summer – we’re honoured to be a part of their growth and to learn from them!
