Today was Rise of the Guardians… The Boogie Man was threatening to take over the world… bad guys dressed in black for the skit right after lunch…. The Tooth Fairy, The Sandman, Santa Claus and the Easter Bunny got together in great costumes of course… The campers were divided into four teams to represent the four characters and the teams competed in two big camp-wide  games… the first was a very complicated re-make of a scavenger hunt, but of course Arowhon style… which means that campers on the lake – in canoes, kayaks, sailboats and windsurfers – were retrieving crest-building pieces from the Voyageur canoe (anchored on the far side of the lake)… They then brought the pieces to their team depots – docks – and passed them off to team mebers on land, who added them to their team’s treasure cache. The event ended with the team  building a team crest with the pieces retrieved in the hunt. The second game was a good old-fashioned marathon, with every camper on every team doing events, tagging the next person, and so on…. We’re just about to head up to Rustic Lounge for the final event of the day, the mental challenge: We’ve brought in Boris the Hypnotist (fresh from entertaining U.S. troops in Afghanistan – really!) to do his hypnosis show for the campers.
