Terrific Tour Day

The weather cooperated for most of the day and our August campers had a blast touring camp and meeting all the amazing instructors. Swim tests and lice checks were completed, cabin pictures were snapped, and every cabin paid a visit to Versailles to talk about emotional safety at camp. Returning campers jumped right back into activities so the lake was abuzz with activity again, and 2 and 6 week inter and seniors started packing up for their upcoming canoe trips.

In Arowhon Friday night tradition, the Senior Girls wore jeans and white shirts to dinner and led a soulful sing along that put us all in the mood for our first campfire of the month, hosted by hippie chicks Emily Nature (who returned to us after changeover with her pup Luna), and Claire Ropes (a.k.a. River and Wind). From hilarious songs about eating worms to touching 10 year jacket speeches (one from an LIT who started at camp as a 6 year old!) it was the perfect way to kick of a great month.

It was a great day in the food department today with fluffy homemade pancakes for breakfast, chicken nuggets (falafels for the vegetarians) and SWEET POTATO FRIES for lunch, and Jo’s secret recipe brisket for dinner, followed by yummy red velvet cupcakes. Everyone’s excited for the first full day of activities tomorrow… stay posted for more camp news!
