Intercamp Success!!!

Today we sent 30 campers in the voyageur canoe to paddle to Camp Tamakwa to represent Arowhon in activity competitions on land and lake and they made us so proud!!! Our campers showed incredible sportsmanship, skill, and dedication (and came out on top in most of their competitions too!). They were welcomed home like the heroes they are and the dining hall echoed at dinner with cheers of congratulations.

We also had Brambo’s Dash after dinner tonight – the biggest canoe race of the summer (named after beloved ex-canoe instructor Bram Yachnin) where campers and staff pair up and power paddle across Teepee Lake. There was some stiff competition this year with all the seniors who are training for Brent and Whitney trips being in tip top shape, and it was a photo finish with Assistant Director Mara and Senior Boy Gil Shapero coming up from behind to beat the leading boat by less than a canoe length!!!

It was crazy hot again here today and campers were jumping in the lake at all opportunities to cool off. Swimming hosted a Pokemon Go themed special day and the seniors evening activity was a beach party (while the inters played a fierce game of capture the flag and then dipped after to cool off). Sending love and virtual lake jumps to all you poor folks stuck in the city with this heat!
