Rainy Relief!

The rain finally came today and we were so glad for the cool-down it provided after so many days of overbearing heat! We had our campfire indoors where it was dryer and thanks to the drama staff’s tech savviness we even had a virtual bonfire crackling in the background! There were 3 touching 10 year jacket speeches and all the campers who have been at camp for 5 years were awarded their mini paddles. It was a real showcase of camper talent tonight with Junior Boys rapping a hilarious rendition of “The Lonely Island”, a Senior Boy improv act, and Inter Boys singing sweet songs with Head Counsellor Jonny accompanying on guitar.

Despite the silver sunshine, we kept playing on Teepee Lake all day. Especially popular was the girls dock who put swim lessons on hold for the day to host a water polo extravaganza! Outside of periods campers are keeping busy with tournaments of all sorts: dodgeball, tennis, even chess! And Rest Hours are hardly ever used for resting with all the fun stuff counsellors are planning for their cabins, like making banana boats, playing “Gotcha”, tye dyeing cabin shirts, and so much more! Tomorrow we’re looking forward to welcoming 45 mini campers for the day to give them a taste of what Planet Arowhon is all about!
