Sharks and Jets in Tepee Lake

Wow what an evening! It could not have been a better way to top of our last day of programming of first session! We can all cancel our tickets to Broadway because nothing could beat the production of West Side Story that the Inters and Seniors put on tonight. From the acting to the singing and dancing to the costumes, it was an incredibly ambitious show and they pulled it off without a hitch – a testament to all the hard work that went into it. Their passion was palpable and the audience was on the edges of their seats as the actors took us on an emotional rollercoaster through Manhattan and Puerto Rico. Never have we seen a show so full of heart and soul and we are so proud of our campers for their talent and dedication.

In other news, high class awards are being achieved up the wazoo and cheering could be heard all over camp as campers passed tests and got thrown in the lake. There was an ice cream sundae party at Rest Hour for everyone who participated in Arowhon in Action events this year, and even more ice cream for the cleanest cabins in camp for snack. Oh and did we mention that dinner dessert was also ice cream? We created a ruckus in the Main Lodge with spoons banging on bowls and chants of “I scream, you scream, we all scream for ice cream!”. This evening was full of special cabin activities that counsellors planned, like star gazing, a rave, and campfires galore. We’re doing our best to pack in as much fun as possible before we have to say goodbye… and it’s not over until the fat loon sings.
