Can it get any better?

I got up as usual at 6:30 this morning, to the same sounds I hear every morning –  Senior Boys and Girls training for Brent and  Whitney marathon canoe trips. Paddling and portaging (at a jog) circuits, cheering each other on, communicating all the while – learning to be great team players. …At breakfast today there was a super-cute skit by the riding instructors to promote Jumping Day at the barn… Two Wayne Peck Sailing Regatta heats today, and one more tomorrow, for a total of four heats to qualify. Given 15 Snipe sailboats in each heat, that adds up to 120 campers and staff participating…. We just completed our second round of written Staff Evaluations (Every staff member gets one)… This is part of the “backstage” aspect that makes camp what it is for the campers. Every staff gets a formal evaluation each week – written evals three times a summer, and verbal evals the other weeks. We believe it’s crucial to give everyone formal evaluations so they have a clear picture of what they’re doing well and where they need to improve and grow… As well, last week we did confidential Camper Questionnaires to discover a bunch of likes/dislikes campers have and mine for issues. Great news, no big bad issues! And we learned a lot (as we always do from Camper Questionnaires) about which activities they like/dislike and why.
