Hot and sunny – Hurrah!

The lake was bustling all day with campers overjoyed by heat and sun – kayaks, canoes, kids windsurfing, sailing and swimming.  At riding campers were learning to jump, at tennis it’s round two of the mixed doubles tournament, at drama the Juniors are in the final days of rehearsing Matilda. At FAD and Guitar campers are practicing for Arowhon-a-Palooza, our dance and music talent show that takes place next week. At Arts &  Crafts they did copper enamelling and at nature they made goats milk cheese with the milk from our camp goats. Spirits were so high all day. Inter Boys came back from their French River canoe trips and reported that the trips were great. Tonight was camp wide campfire – So soulful with the entire camp singing together round the campfire in the Junior Boys Campsite, a glorious woodland glade. There were two five-year staff ceremonies (They get an engraved full-size cherrywood paddle) and four ten-year jacket ceremonies, to celebrate people who’ve been at camp ten years. And we gave engraved cherrywood mini-paddles to the campers celebrating their fifth year at camp.
