Shhhh…. Don’t tell the campers

Today is Carnival Day. We met with all the staff late last night to brief them on their roles today. There’s to be an extravaganza skit right to announce it right after breakfast, and all afternoon we’ll be having fun with huge inflatables, real carnival games and all the great carnival food the kids adore – cotton candy and sno-cones, churros etc.

Yesterday the trippers did a huge skit to promote upcoming speciality canoe trips that campers can sign up for. Well, one hiking trip. And- one tripper dressed as a chef offered a gourmet cooking trio. One in monk’s robes offered a yoga and meditation trio… One camouflaged in trees offered a survival trip…. One dressed as a Voyageur offered an Algonquin history trip….one in full whitewater gear offered a whitewater trip (for Seniors only).

And we’re signing up for the annual Wayne Peck Sailing Regatta – the camper staff race with one two campers and one staff in every sailboat, and the camper is to skipper four of the six legs. We’ve been doing this race for 50 years and everyone gets excited about it.
