Colour War is super fun… The Red Queen, in full royal regalia, interrupts events with her drama, her king by her side with cloak and sceptre. Events today went from speed chess to sail and surf races and swim meet, and we’re just about to start team fight songs, after which it’s the annual Counsellor Hunt, a sure thriller. I’m worth 300 points, and I’m ready. I’ve collected a bag of leaves to heap upon myself, I have a carefully chosen woodland spot, and am kited out in green rain pants, green shirt and with a green bug hat for my head as camp. Fun! The Juniors are all out on trip because we believe that Colour War, while it’s a blast for the older kids, is a little too unstructured for the younger ones, and they need their counsellors more… besides, they were super excited to go on trip… LITs have come back from their 24-hour solos…. Never a dull moment here.
