Tonight was the first campfire of the summer… it was wonderful. The emcees were two sumo wrestlers (staff in costumes) and campers sang and played guitar… Big hits were the Bananas in the Sky Song, the Blackfly Song, the thunderstorm skit, and of course the heartfelt speeches made by staff who were receiving their five-year staff paddles…and campers received their five-year camper paddles – all the paddles engraved with the recipient’s name and camp’s logo….all this on the heels of a hot sunny day with much great play… and fajitas for dinner with fresh-made guacamole and salsa and home-made very chocolatey whoopie pies for dessert.
